ECAA Roundup 09/10/2021

September 10, 2021

Free, Flexible ECAA Vendor Opportunities
You can promote your business while you promote ECAA at the upcoming Pints in the Pines event on September 18th. You can get a four-square foot table area to showcase your products or services. All you have to do is sign up for a shift to staff the ECAA booth between 12:00 to 10:00 pm in Casey Jones Park. You may also hang a ledger sized sign in the back of the booth. We can have up to five volunteers per hour. Volunteer now as slots on the schedule are already in demand by sending an email to execcom@elbertcountyagalliance.org. If you need a booth of your own there are still spaces available through the Elizabeth Area Chamber of Commerce.

See, Smell, Hear, and Think Like a Horse
Like most horse people you spend a lot of time studying horse behavior and relationships, but if you want to go really deep check out this article on sensory perception in horses: https://frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fvets.2020.00633/full. Published last year by Swedish scientists, this article explores how horses perceive the world and how their sensory abilities and limitations effect their behavior.

Trick or Treat Promotion for Your Business
Living in the countryside we don’t get visitors on Halloween. This year ECAA is giving members an opportunity to advertise their businesses at the upcoming Harvest Festival in downtown Elizabeth. And you don’t even need to leave home yourself that night. We will be handing out about 700 swag bags to the trick-or-treaters; and are opening up the opportunity for bag sponsors to include promotional materials, and candy of course, in the bags. Simply buy a sponsorship for $35 then deliver your business’ brochure and candy contribution by Friday, October 22nd. Bags will be handed out on October 30th beginning at 11:00 a.m. And of course, you are welcome to join us in handing out bags that night and see all of the happy kids in their costumes. Email execcom@elbertcountyagalliance.org for more information or to sign up.

Off Grid Ideas
Beginning today and running through the weekend, the Off Grid Expo at Arapahoe County Fairgrounds will feature off grid strategies ideal for outdoor adventurers and homesteaders. Exhibitors will include off grid solutions for vehicles, foods, water supply, solar power, heating, and more. Get the details and see the full list of exhibitors at https://offgridexpo.com.

Create Your Destination Business
This week some of us took advantage of John Shallert’s Destination Creation Workshop in Lincoln County. It was fantastic! He also has an eight-part Destination Creation Course available via webinar with a local trained facilitator. Raejean Palko of SBDC is one of those facilitators and is currently organizing a fall course costing up to $200 depending upon sponsorships and grants. If you are interested contact Raejean at raejean@eastcoloradosbdc.com.

Don’t forget this coming Monday at noon is the agritourism group meeting. Send an email to Sheila.zuschek@elbertcountyagalliance.org if you are not on the list and want the meeting link.
