ECAA Roundup 09/24/2021

September 24, 2021

Trick or Treat Promotion for Your Business
This year ECAA is giving members an opportunity to advertise their businesses at the upcoming Harvest Festival in downtown Elizabeth. And you don’t even need to leave home yourself that night. We will be handing out about 700 swag bags to the trick-or-treaters; and are opening up the opportunity for bag sponsors to include promotional materials, and candy of course, in the bags. Simply buy a sponsorship for $35 then deliver your business’ brochure and candy contribution by Friday, October 22nd. Bags will be handed out on October 30th beginning at 11:00 a.m. And of course, you are welcome to join us in handing out bags that night and see all of the happy kids in their costumes. Email execcom@elbertcountyagalliance.org for more information or to sign up.

Think Global-bee
The European Beekeeping Congress is offering a free, two-day event, BEEcome 2021, with bee experts from around the world translated in real time into English. Topics include new challenges for beekeeping, breeding bees with varroa resistance traits, and bee diseases versus climate change. The event is November 20th and 21st. CORE Electric Cooperative
IREA customers will have noticed a recent change as it transitions to CORE Electric Cooperative. CORE is sponsoring a series of question-and-answer events for members, including one at the Douglas County Events Center, 500 Fairgrounds Drive, in Castle Rock on Tuesday, October 5 at 4:30 p.m. Another will be held in Bennett at the CORE Bennett Office, 1092 Cedar Street, on Tuesday, October 12th at 4:30 p.m. CORE employees from several departments will be on hand to answer questions on a variety of topics, including billing services, system improvements, vegetation management, wildfire mitigation, rate design and power supply. No reservation is required to attend.

Cage Sale
If you ever keep small critters indoors to recuperate, you should check out the Gabriel Foundation’s annual cage sale this Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. They are at 39520 CR 13 in Elizabeth and have cages of all sizes.

Mark Your Calendar
ECAA will hold an in-person member meeting and potluck at Casey Jones Park Pavilion on Saturday, October 16th from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. Bring a beverage and bring a dish. Tables and chairs will be provided. We’ll be eating and mingling throughout, with a break for introductions, announcements, and questions at 4:30 p.m., then back to mingling and eating. Announcements will be emailed to members who cannot attend.
