ECAA Roundup 11/18/2022

November 18, 2022

Small Town Christmas

The best way to build a sense of community is to be involved with your community. Why not start with a small commitment with volunteer opportunities for the upcoming Elizabeth Mayor’s Christmas Tree Lighting? We are still looking for baker elves willing to make four dozen Christmas tree sugar cookies. We are also seeking a few more volunteers to help hand out cookies that afternoon, December 3rd, and assist at other booths along Main Street. Join in the fun and help your neighbors get into the holiday spirit. Email sheila.zuschek@elbertcountyagalliance.org.

Wildcrafting Class

Olde Willow Mercantile will be hosting an herbalism class for adults on December 3rd from 9:00 am. to noon. Students will learn about herbs and their uses and will be able to make three different herbal remedies.  Text Kim at 720-849-8337 for more information.

Tourism on the Plains

If you are interested in getting involved in tourism here on the eastern plains, plan on attending the East Central Council of Governments’ workshop on tourism on November 29th at the Limon Community Center from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. RSVP to Candace at 719-348-5562. If you can’t make it to Limon, but are interested in learning more about developing agritourism on your property, hosting guests for farm stays, or promoting tourism in the county, contact Sheila Zuschek at sheila.zuschek@elbertcountyagalliance.org.

Cookoffs are Coming

Registration is now open for the 2nd Annual ECAA Community Chili Cookoff being held January 28th at Once Upon A Time Events. For more information go to: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/429717946947. Homestead Fair Committee

The Homestead Fair Committee will be reforming in 2023; and we need you. Committee members will help in venue selection and program development, recruit vendors and sponsors, and/or boost the marketing campaign. Many hands make light work and starting in early 2023 will make planning that much easier. Contact Tonya Roche at tonya.roche@elbertcountyagalliance.org for more information.

If you have announcements or classifieds that should be included in the next Roundup? Send them to news@elbertcountyagalliance.org.

Trivia Answer: 86 degrees Fahrenheit.
