Chili Cookoff: Are you up for the challenge?
ECAA will be hosting a chili cookoff on the afternoon of Saturday, February 5, 2022 at the Barn Wedding Venue in Kiowa. Prizes will be awarded for judges’ choice and people’s choice chilis. Dust off your recipes and sign up by emailing Bob Hammervold at bob.hammervold@elbertcountyagalliance.org.  Entry is $25. The event is open to the public.

The 4-H Resume Builder
Do you have a child in 4-H who is thinking about college or internships? Are you thinking about involving your children in 4-H, but not sure how it will fit in with all of their other college prep activities? Bee-ginners Class
The Jefferson County Beekeeper Association is hosting a basic beekeeping class in Wheatridge on February 20, 2022 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. To register contact kathycg519@gmail.com.

Bee Watering
Drought conditions are continuing and the warm weather is keeping the bees active. You can help the bees by putting out shallow dishes of sugar water with rocks in the bottom to give them safe landing spots.

Elbert County Master Gardener Calendar
If you are looking for a last minute gift for a gardener or need an easy way to keep track of what’s happening on your farm or ranch head over to the Elbert County Extension Office to pick up their 2022 calendar for just $5.
